Nokonoshima Island, feel nature in an isolated island in Fukuoka

Nokonoshima Island Park is located on Nokonoshima Island in the center of Hakata Bay, Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City.

The island is famous for flowers that you can enjoy throughout the year in a natural park which is about 150,000 square meters!

Because it is close to Tenjin and Hakata, it’s easy to access.

Why don’t you visit a little to enjoy nature?

Access:10 minutes on a ferry to Nokonoshima island

Nokojimanoshima is an island, so you need to take a ferry.

First, take Meinohama Ferry.

It takes about 40 minutes by bus from Hakata station or about 30 minutes by bus from Tenjin.

You can arrive smoothly if you check the time in advance.

You can go out to the ferry deck and overlook the sea, taking the wind, or wait for the arrival chilling indoors.

It’s short trip by ferry because it takes about 10 minutes.

After arriving Nokonoshima Island, take the Nishitetsu bus bound for Island Park which takes you in about 13 minutes.

If you have time to spare, it is recommended walk Island Park because it is a small island.

Usually WIFI is not available in isolated islands or isolated places, even at hotels or restaurants.

Bicycle trip over Nokonoshima Island

It is recommended to cycling over Nokonoshima because the circumference of the island is about 12 km.

Also, Nokojima has public transportation by Nishitetsu bus, but the bus come once in an hour.

And most of the time, tourists will use it to go to the island park from the ferry port, so it is convenient to rent a bicycle if you want to enjoy sightseeing.

As like photo, enjoy peaceful landscape riding on a bicycle, feeling sea wind.

You can rent a bicycle at “Nokonoichi” which is located nearby ferry port.

 

Note that unless you are confident in your physical fitness, we recommend to  rent an electric bicycle.

Although Nokonoshima Island is a small island, there less flat ground and, there are some small mountains.

You should choose an electric bicycle if you are going to Nokonoshima Island Park by bicycle.

Noko Burger before bicycle trip at Nokonoichi

Walking from ferry port, you can eat Noko Burger, the specialty in Nokonoshima Island.

It is one of the local burgers that exist here and there in Kyushu, so please try it here before going bicycle trip.

A gorgeous hamburger with plenty of vegetables made in Nokonoshima Island Park.

A slice of lettuce, tomato and onion is sandwiched between putties with thick chopped onions.

The sauce is ketchup and mayonnaise with mustard.

Single hamburger costs 450 yen.

It is also recommended “Noko Amanatsu(orange) juice set” which costs 600 yen.

Caution

Because Noko Burger is popular and sold in limited number, it sells out in the evening.

If Noko Burger was sold out, please enjoy “Nonoko Shima Cider” as another local gourmet instead.

Superb view wherever in Nokonoshima Island Park

After arriving Nokonoshima Island Park, superb view of flowers expand in the park.

You will forget the fatigue of bicycle trip the park.

In autumn, the cosmos is in full bloom.

The 3 contrast of pink cosmos, blue sea and the sky is very beautiful.

It is recommended to visit the park anytime, because a lot of kind of flowers blows in each season.

Especially, spring, summer and autumn are recommended.

For example, in spring Cherry blossom and Rapeseed blossom, in summer, sunflower and Hydrangea, and in autumn, cosmos and scarlet.

Drawing a beach seine experience and barbecue

You can experience drawing a beach seine in Nokonoshima island.

They accept only group application, so please ask minimum number of participants for .

Helped by local fisherman, just pull the beach seine.

The seine is unexpectedly heavy, so it’s hard to pull even though many people are pulling.

So many fish were caught this time.

You can receive all of the fish that are caught in this program.

After caching the fish, you can eat barbecue.

*You don’t have to both barbecue and beach seine experience.

It’s allowed to just apply beach seine experience.

Drawing a beach seine experience and barbecue are recommended to try in summer season such as June to middle of September.

Depending on the season, it seems that fireworks can be played on the private beach.

So if you are not satisfied with a day trip, it is good to stay.
