“teamLab” is an art group which create various art works that fuse the latest technologies and their creativeness.
TeamLab mainly holds limited time solo exhibitions around the world, and has gained a lot of popularity and reputation, but there are also many exhibitions that can be enjoyed at permanent venues all over the country and even overseas.
So, today, we will introduce the venues that you can enjoy the beautiful world of “teamLab” as much as possible in Japan and overseas.

GINZA SIX/Chuo-ward, Tokyo
GINZA SIX, a comprehensive commercial facility located in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, is displaying artwork by the team lab called “Taki” (waterfall) in the atrium of the building.
“Waterfall” is a reproduction of the flow of the waterfall using digital art. Following the time of day, the flow changes, and the dynamics is like a real waterfall.
teamLab Planets TOKYO / Koto-ward, Tokyo
“team Lab Planets TOKYO” in Toyosu, Koto-ward, Tokyo, is based on the concept of “Body Immersive” that Team Lab has been working on for many years, which means your whole body soaks into the art work deeply.
For example, in the work called “Drawing on the Water Surface Created by the Dance of Koi(carp) and People – Infinity”, it creates a world which you can feel as if you are in a beautiful lake with colorful Koi fishes swimming around on your legs along with music.
MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM: EPSON team Lab Borderless / Koto-ward, Tokyo
“MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM: EPSON team Lab Borderless” where located in Odaiba, Tokyo, is the first digital art museum in the world that collaborates with team Lab and Mori Building.
There are five divided spaces with 10,000 square kilometers along with difference theme, such as “Borderless World”, “Athletic Forest”, “Future Park”, “Forest of Resonating Lamps” and “EN TEA HOUSE”.
Also you can experience the art works with a borderless world of the viewer and the exhibit.
“The Way of Birds – Seated Contemplation”/ Yoshida District, Fukui
“teamLab” is permanently exhibiting the artwork “The Way of Birds – Seated Contemplation” which is surrounded by videos on all sides and below, surprisingly, free to watch in “Eibou House – Eiheiji Town Cultural Exchange Center” in Eiheiji, Yoshida District, Fukui.
The movement of several thousand to several tens of thousands of lightning birds in groups is very mysterious, and you can experience a majestic floating feeling on the air as if you are wrapped in one big life object.
When standing near the specified location in the artwork, you are soaked deeply into the art world with no boundary of walls, floors and space.
“Forest of Resonating Lamps” / Tokushima-shi, Tokushima
“Resonating Trees” set in Tokushimaken Bunkanomori Total Park is one of the projects of “Digitized Nature” in which nature is transformed into art without changing its nature by digital art.
The trees in the park lined up in the dark are illuminated, they light up as if they breathe loosely, and they repeat the flashing glow and disappearing its light.
The lights that illuminates the trees changes color as visitors and animal approach, giving a distinctive timbre that further propagates to the next tree and to the next tree.
A Forest Where Gods Live / Takeo, Saga
“A Forest Where Gods Live” isn’t a permanent facility, but team Lab hold this exhibition annually at Mifuneyama Rakuen.
The projects concept is “Nature will become art as it is”.
It exhibits many works with the theme of “continuous life” in the 500,000 square kilometers of “Mifuneyama Rakuen” large garden.
It will be held from July to October 31 in 2019.
Story of the Forest / Singapore
“Story of the Forest” is a digital artwork that is on permanent display at the National Museum in Singapore.
As the name of “Story of the Forest” implies, it expresses plants and animal living in a forest in Singapore to digital art with the about 15m of bridge and corridor in the dome.
FUTURE WORLD: WHERE ART MEETS SCIENCE / Singapore
All 16 works of teamLab have been permanently displayed as “FUTURE WORLD: WHERE ART MEETS SCIENCE” in the “Art Science Museum”, a lotus flower building in the “Marina Bay Sands, a comprehensive resort hotel in Singapore.
It is divided into five zones such as “Nature”, “Town”, “Sanctuary”, “Park”, and “Universe”, and you can experience art works that make use of the latest digital technologies along with each theme.
You can see how beautiful they are to see just their images.
But if you actually experience there, there is no doubt you will feel as if you have really entered another mysterious world.
