14 Restaurants of Nakasu in Fukuoka that only local knows

Introducing exquisite gourmets that are around Nakasu, downtown of the night in Fukuoka-City.

I have carefully selected only the restaurants where are super-hidden spots and gather residents!

To be honest, I do not like to introduce!  But, these are all the restaurants that I wish you to visit for eating when you come to Hakata.

Cheap but tasty, fresh is the seafood, and I have selected 16 restaurants with a good atmosphere!

Because I wish you to eat especially sashimi many of Japanese dishes are showing up!

It is typical of Hakata that sake wines also are fulfilled.

Rosita

From Nakasu Shimbashi, entering to the north along a river, you turn to the left at the first corner, and you will find a pink wall, which is Rosita.

Honestly speaking, the place is hard to spot as it may be highly possible that only locals know.

But the dish is tasty the best, so you will go repeatedly that you will get hooked on there!

It is one of the few restaurants that you can taste no-frills homemade meals of Mexico, and it is a very good restaurant to go for a drink noisily with friends.

You can also adjust the spiciness.

Stuff of the store are also kind (maybe they are Mexicans!), so please ask them so!

Mihara Tofu Ten

Located in Nishi-Nakasu, Mihara Tofu Ten is a store of specialized Tofu dish.

As it has already been a popular store, thought that I should not make it more crowded…, but I want to recommend here by all means to Tofu-lovers.

Being impatient, I have introduced it!

As it is a small store, it is hard even to make a reservation.

If on weekdays, you might enter the store somehow, and might be able to make a reservation.

Let’s stop by a bit before closing!

You might be able to enter the store if thinking in such a way!

What is good here is Tofu nabe (a hot pot made with soy milk), but anything, including legendary atsuage (thick fried tofu) and tofu ganache, is tasty.

So, I wish you to eat everything by visiting several times.

There are not just tofu but stewed beef tongue with tomato, etc., so it is no doubt that you can enjoy various menus!

Kiharu (the former store name: Dokushaku Shizuku)

A mackerel that is said that directly delivered from Goto Islands is a specialty of the Kiharu.

Procuring a mackerel that is still alive before opening hours, the restaurant prepares it and serves sashimi.

It is a restaurant where one who likes a mackerel and sake wine wishes to visit often.

As the restaurant is popular, I did not like to post information of also this store, but I thought that I wished mackerel lovers to taste the real fresh taste and texture.

Every staff is very comfortable and responds politely.

As there are many local dining guests, it is a store of a hidden spot with no mistake.

Tanakada

Tanakada is a restaurant of creative Japanese cuisine.

Sashimi, simmered dish, grilled dish, Side dish served in a small bowl…

It is a restaurant that everything is fashionable and tasty.

When you wish to indulge a bit acquired taste, and when you wish to eat various things at the atmospheric restaurant, I recommend this “Tanakada”.

There may be the case that you cannot make a reservation also here, but the store is located a bit far from Tenjin, so if you shift the time it is highly probable that you can enter the store even without a reservation!

It has already become a famous restaurant, so there may not only be local dining guests.

The restaurant serves dishes that make the most of the original taste of the ingredients.

Omusubi Mura

The highlight of Omusubi Village is its variety of over 40 types of rice balls.

With 22 types for 240 yen and 18 types for 230 yen, the pricing is also attractive.

On cold days, you can enjoy them with oden or miso soup.

It’s the perfect spot for a meal after drinking or for enjoying with alcohol in the evening.

The shrimp in the “tenmusu” (tempura rice ball) was plump and juicy 🦐.

The beef soboro was well-seasoned with a sweet and spicy flavor that pairs well with rice.

It also comes with a perfectly sized bowl of miso soup and a side dish.

It’s a menu that makes you want to shout “the best!”

Apparently, the salted mackerel is also popular.

It’s great for when you’re short on time, want a quick lunch, or want to grab a bite near the station at any time.

Of course, with takeout, you can enjoy delicious rice balls even while on the move.

Marusan Gyoza

Marusan Gyoza is located in a place where seems like “here probably might be only the locals know!”.

Because this town is like an old town of Hakata, it is not such a place where tourists visit.

That is why there are tasty things that the locals love!

When you eat a bite-sized Gyoza (Japanese dumpling) in Hakata, you may probably think that Marusan is absolutely the number one, because you can eat as many servings as you can.

It is a taste that you don’t get tired of eating.

I was taught also here eating Gyoza with a topping of Yuzu Kosho (condiment paste made from yuzu zest and peppers)!

A potato salad is also tasty and tomato is fresh and is sweet as the taste is rich!

Spareribs are also exquisite!

Shudo

Shudo is a sushi restaurant, which I do not like to post.

There is a signboard, but there are also many people who do not know the name of the restaurant, and who cannot find it.

So, it is a hidden sushi restaurant.

Fish is fresh, and you will be asked what you do not like in advance.

If you do not like fatty tuna, and when you ask whether you can have it scorched, the restaurant serves it properly scorched.

You may feel hesitant to enter, but, everyone, including an owner-chef and staff, is very kind.

What I wish you to eat is grilled eggs.

As I have heard that a sushi restaurant where the grilled egg is tasty, the grilled egg here makes me roar.

It is tasty!

All the a la carte is delicate and tasty, and varieties are abundant.

It is irresistible for one who likes drinking sake wine!

To tell you the truth, I did not like to post this…

Niino

Niino is a restaurant of a rare genre that is an oden (fishcake, egg, and vegetable stew) specialized restaurant.

The reason why the restaurant has an atmosphere of Japanese traditional high-class restaurant is beyond the level of an oden store is that every other dish is delicate and tasty, although said that an oden is at the center.

There is white and black broth of an oden even of the same foodstuff.

As to explain simply, the white broth is lightly flavored and black one is a strong flavor.

For the one who likes to eat with umami flavor, the white one is recommended!

There is also a way to enjoy by eating comparing both broths, please try challenging!

A soup for finishing up and an ochazuke (rice in Japanese broth) with oden broth that you may not like to miss out…

Hakata Uogashi Shijo Kaikan Ten

It is said that if you like to eat fresh seafood, you should go there.

Hakata Uogashi Shijo Kaikan Ten” is famous for cheap but fresh and delicious sashimi and Kaisen Don (rice bowl topped with seafood).

Because the atmosphere of the restaurant seems lively, it may not suit to one who likes to eat in quiet.

The taste is delicious!

Besides, such delicious dishes are cheap!

Even if you do not like so much sashimi, I think that you can enter the store at ease because there are menus, including simmered fish, grilled fish, and deep-fried oysters.

Good for lunch, also for dinner, and of course also for breakfast…

Makoto

When you say about a mackerel specialized restaurant located in Suikyo Tenmangu Yoko-Cho Alley of Tenjin, it is “Makoto“.

Though it opens also at night as an Izakaya, what is famous is a set meal for lunch.

Grilled whole mackerel set meal is Yen 900 that comes with large served rice, about 150g chilled tofu with toppings, miso soup, and Japanese pickles.

Because it is a restaurant that is always a waiting line, if you wish to eat lunch, please go earlier.

By the way, the staff of the store said that the size of the mackerel is a little bigger for a night than for lunch!

Fatty salted mackerel is the best!

Even if you do not like to eat the skin, I think that you can surely eat it.

It is crunchy!

Yoshizuka Unagiya

The highlight of Yoshizuka Unagiya is the traditional taste that has been continued since its establishment in the sixth year of Meiji.

The unique grilling technique “Konashi,” and the secret sauce that enhances the delicate sweetness, continue to captivate those who visit.

The long-beloved taste is based on careful preparation and a deep understanding of the ingredients, supported by many gourmets.

It’s crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, very satisfying to eat, and super delicious!

You can also get more of the secret sauce.

Eel is rich in vitamins, which is said to be effective for boosting immunity and recovering from fatigue.

It’s also high in protein, recommended for those who exercise as it helps build beautiful muscles.

Shinshu Soba Murata

There are two kinds of Mori soba (chilled soba served on a dish with dipping sauce) that are Nihachi soba (soba made with two parts flour to eight parts soba flour) and Towari soba (soba made with only soba flour).

And you can fully enjoy chewy and tasty soba noodles at Shinshu Soba Murata

Honestly speaking, I did not want to post it…

Because it is a soba noodle store where just always is a waiting line.

If I post it here, thinking that tourists will increase, I feel…

Varieties of soba noodles are also abundant, and hot soba soup noodle is also of course tasty.

Among them, what is popular is Kamonan-soba (hot soba soup noodles with duck and green onions).

Among a la carte dishes, Tamagoyaki (Japanese “rolled” omelet) is exquisite!

Because Zenzai (a sweet soup made of red beans) is also tasty, I wish you to eat it.

There are a regular size and a small size, so please try it by all means!

Motsunabe Nagamasa Hakata Ekimae Ten

In a place after walking about seven minutes from Hakata station, there is “Motsunabe Nagamasa Hakata Ekimae Ten“.

It is a restaurant that a guest from outside of the prefecture had enjoyed very much.

(Because it is a restaurant where you can eat all the tasty things of Kyushu.)

Because it is a restaurant that tasty things of Kyushu will be served while these are tasty, I am recommending “Nagamasa”.

What particularly was pleased was “horse meat sashimi”.

It is fresh and also looks beautiful, and is delicious more than any!

It is a fine dish that makes you touched as such.

Also, you may be able to eat “spear squid of Yobuko”, depending on the status of procurement, so please ask so when you make a reservation.

Shoku-Shin Shungiku

Unchanged deliciousness since the opening of the restaurant.

If the numbers of guests increase, I did not like it, so I did not like to introduce it.

But, Shoku-Shin Shungiku is a special restaurant that makes you think that you wish to introduce the store to the one who likes fish and sake wine.

It is said that depending on a kind of fish, there may be the case that the restaurant serves it after being aged for one to three days.

Sashimi that is fresh and chewy texture is good, and also sashimi that was aged and thick texture is good.

It seems that each market is good at different fish, and I take my hat off to that the store is particular about procuring from five different markets.

There is also a meat dish, so also the one, who thinks that it is too much if only fish, can enjoy the dish.
