What is “eX cafe”?
This time, I would like to introduce a store called “Ix Cafe” in Arashiyama, Kyoto.
The majestic gateway blends into the streets of Arashiyama.
The Japanese house has been renovated and replaced as a cafe.
Step inside and you will find a building with beautiful art in bright colors.
This shop is about 1 minute walk from Keifuku Line Arashiyama Station and about 10 minutes walk from JR Line Saga Arashiyama Station.
The hours of operation are from 10:00 to 18:00 (last order at 17:30).
It’s a popular shop, so please make sure you have enough time.
A space full of charm
There is a small garden on the shop’s premises, where you can watch the garden from the windows and taste sweets feeling a warm sun light.
The space is full of charms of Kyoto.
There is a calm atmosphere that makes you think you’ll stay longer.
In addition to table seats, there are also Japanese-style rooms with spacious sofa seats and artistic spaces.
Since every seat is suitable for an Instagram, it is recommended that you wear a kimono and visit the cafe.
The interior is attractive and you will make your eyes fluffy.

Hokuhoku Dango(Dumpling) set
The “Hokuhoku Dango Set” is a must-try item at this shop.
It’s fun to use the Shichirin to bake your own dumplings.
There are two types of dumplings, “shiro(white)” and “yomogi(Wormwood)”, and you can put specially made Mitarashi sauce and anko.
The freshly baked dumplings are very warm and the texture is superb.
Kyoguro Roll Kuromaru
This is also the best recommended “Kyoguro Roll Kuromaru”.
The contrast between the black roll cake and the white color of the fresh cream is beautiful, and the syrup and powder that are topped on the green and golden plates of green tea are also suitable for Instagram photograph.
